Get to know me . . .

Marion Clark

I am a retired Psychotherapist living in Australia. I was born in Melbourne, attended Kilvington Grammar School until Year 5, when I transferred to Methodist Ladies College, Elsternwick.

My education was disrupted because I travelled with my parents in New Zealand for a total of two years (two trips) where I was a minor celebrity.

I left school aged 14 years and obtained a secretarial qualification at Stott's Business College in Melbourne working in Legal officers and travelling in Europe with my mother for an extended period until I married, in 1961, a minister of religion.

He had several parishes in South Australia, one in New South Wales and two in Victoria before becoming a Supervisor and Trainer of telephone counsellors at Melbourne Lifeline and afterwards a Chaplain to Industry. We have three sons.

I obtained an early leavers place at La Trobe University at Bundoora in 1978 and completed 7/9ths of a BA degree before transferring to Post Graduate Social Work at the same University where I graduated with a BSW (Distinction). I did further post-graduate studies at Monash Psychological Medicine.

I set up a private practice in 1985 and commenced practising as a Counsellor in 1985 and in 1987 began seeing psychotherapy patients with supervision. It continued until 2005 when I retired.
